On May 11, the Jeju City Sports Council (Chairman Kim Jong-ho) signed a sponsorship agreement with Nassau Co., Ltd. (Chairman Ju Eun Hyung), one of Korea’s leading sports brands, at the Sara-bong Multi-Purpose Gymnasium. The two parties agreed to cooperate closely to expand the foundation of sports in the region.

The agreement outlines key areas of collaboration, including:

  • Sports marketing consulting support

  • Provision of athletic equipment

  • Sponsorship of development funds

  • Hosting of domestic and international football training camps

The partnership aims to foster the growth of sports activities in Jeju while contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

One of the highlights of the agreement is the joint development of a sports airdome, allowing Jeju residents to enjoy sports activities year-round, regardless of external conditions such as fine dust, heavy snow, or strong winds. The initiative is expected to position Jeju as a new model for sports tourism, attracting not only elite athletes from Korea and abroad but also amateur football enthusiasts.

Chairman Kim Jong-ho of the Jeju City Sports Council commented:

“We are deeply grateful to Nassau for their support of Jeju’s sports community.
Over the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation or downsizing of many local events that were vital to our economy.
This agreement with Nassau will be a major boost for both local sports activities and the regional economy.”

Ju Eun Hyung, Chairman of Nassau, stated:

“For over 50 years, Nassau has exported a wide range of sports goods to 54 countries and has earned global recognition as a sports brand.
Through this agreement with Jeju City, we look forward to becoming a gateway for promoting Jeju’s sports infrastructure and cultural content to the world.”

With COVID-19 restrictions lifted, the Jeju City Sports Council is now actively resuming its full range of community fitness programs, along with organizing local competitions, nurturing athletes, and improving athletic performance?under the slogan:
“Healthy Jeju! Happy City! No.1 Jeju City!”
